Be Generous; Be Grateful

Today was a good day.

Thursday is a day I dread of; plus the pour this morning was just too much.
Being the only person who alighted at the bus-stop, I have no choice but walk in the storm. God pitied me, and sent me an angel. There he was, sheltered me and ask me if I needed an umbrella.

I placed a note next to his car after school (but I guess it's all wet by the time he sees it :( oh no). Thank you so much for starting my day right.

Being an Aquarius, it was predicted that I would get pretty down today. No, I couldn't figure out a single reason. Everything went well today, and I was anticipating JJ being interviewed by FM Yes 933.

Exhausted, I soon fall asleep after bathing and drying myself. There's praying session tonight. Waking up late, I had to rush through my dinner and preparation. I forgot about the broadcast, long-forgotten. You could imagine how frustrated I was when I finally managed to recall it after praying session. Even Eunice couldn't cheer me up, feeding me with food.

I have no idea what got over me this year; I don't know why in a way, it felt worst than a breakup (exaggerating). And then, this video. I chanced upon this video at the right moment.

Disclaimer: The above long-winded story (and a boring one) has no meaning to what this post and the following video is about.

I'm not too sure if someone cut onions or what, but I could not stop tearing.
If you have about 12 minutes or so of your life to spare, please watch this video. (There's English translation :))

Sometimes we know that we are not obligated to do certain things. Yet, there is something especially important to everyone. Everyone.

Although it may not be linked directly, I drew different thoughts after the video.

When was the last time you give your loved ones a hug and tell them you love them?

I'm saying this because I'm extremely guilty towards my parents. It was my daddy's birthday 2 days ago, but I forgot about it completely. So in the midnight, I wrote a really short message on a normal A4 paper for him. I placed it on the desk in the living room, so that would be the first thing he sees the next morning.

He always treasures every single little thing I gave for him. Even if it's real ugly, he would still keep it somewhere safe. Sometimes back, I flipped through my mum's cardboard because she wanted me to help look for some documents. There, I saw all the cards I drew for her. Some of those cards were drawn back then, when I was as young as 4 years old. There was this sense of guilt being inflicted.

You know, it's so irony that most of us would spent hours and hours doing up gifts, choosing presents for our friends or lovers. I'm not saying these people are not important. We all need friends and lover, and to show them our appreciation towards them. But yet, how many of us actually spend equal effort for our parents. We owe them so much, that no matter how rich we are in the future, it would never be adequate to return back them the love they gave us.

They are not obligated to give us the best of everything that they could afford. Please don't take it, take them, take love for granted.

Prisoners In Paradise: Defending the Underprivileged in Singapore

I'm so thankful that I came across this video; although what I would be working for in the future differs from this, it still voice down to this same basis that everyone has the power to make a difference.

Pro Bono Law Services is an initiative by the Law Society of Singapore to bring free legal assistance to those in need in our community. Here, they have 3,500 members, who identified themselves as pro bono lawyers. These selfless people pledged of 25 hours pro bono services per lawyer, which translates into a potential of more than 80,000 pro bono hours to invest for the good of the community in Singapore.

Although it seems far for now, may it ensure access to justice for all (especially the needy and vulnerable ones who are being exploited and manipulated).

This is an amazing initiative, giving hope for those living in darkness. Kudos!

Because music is the soul

I was so amazed when I saw this video; it's as though humanity is restored.
Of course there are people out there who do not believe that they actually just met online recently, but that isn't the point.

What happens if everyone can afford to attend music school? I wonder what beauty can we attain. Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.

This video just give hope to so many things. :)

For all JM; Stories Untold.

Perhaps only JM can relate to this;

Maybe in this world, there are just too many by the name of Lin Jun Jie. Yet, no one can come as close to that single-eyelid, forever smiling with his adorable dimples, and very talented composure him. Yes, JJ Lin (Wayne).

I have been told ample times, that I am too crazy over him. I have been told too many times, that this is childish. Yet, I have stopped explaining myself. For that I'm clear, it is precisely he has many good pointers to learn from him. For that I'm clear, it is the idolisation over the years, that slowly build into love.

If you know how much I love JJ, please do not reprimand him in front of me. For that I will feel worst than being criticised.
If you know how much I love JJ, please do not doubt his capabilities, for that he has been working very hard on his dream.
If you know how much I love JJ, please respect me for loving him this way.

Possibly in your eyes, JJ may not be that good; but he has never stop giving his best.
Possibly in your eyes, JJ may not be that good-looking; but he has a kind-heart.

I love him, for being real, adorable, and forth-coming.
I love him, for focussing so hard on his dream.
I love him, for being genuine and grateful.

Through these 10 years, JJ has grown so much.
Yet he never once compromises to give less for his music.
One of his greatest fears is disappointing his fans, which became his biggest motivation.

JJ always tear in all his concerts.
Some say he is too fake, yet these people do not understand how much he appreciates his fans.

JJ, thank you for always holding on to that promise you made to us. That as long as you still have your voice, you would always sing for us.
Despite that 2009 incident, when you almost lost your vocals, you braved on and fought even harder. Thank you for always working so hard, giving your best and more.

It's a blessing to be able to hear him sing.
I pray that for the next 10 years, his music will still be that one thing that accompanies me.
It's more than enough. :)

This is a song dedicated to all his fans, in his newest album: Stories Untold.

Remember, Forever.
If you have been a JM, you would definitely find the melody familiar. It's a combination of most of his pieces for the past 10 years, and dedicating his gratitude to his fans, or rather friends.

Effective Way in Removing Make-Up

For the beauties out there, this is one good way to remove heavy make-up.
Managed to chance upon this video.

I have not tried it personally - I'm not a someone who puts on make-up most of the time.
When I do, I will do a review if it is effective alright!

In any case, avoid heavy make-up!
Allow your skin to breathe alright? :)

Reminder: Listen, to their story; before you judge.

The camera wanders and shows the inner lives of people around us as they do their daily tasks. Most of it is set in a hospital, where there is so much worry, sadness, some joy, bad news, good news, no news, anxiety, fear – as in real life, but perhaps magnified.

We've all BEEN there - all experienced at least one - or more! - of what these people are experiencing. Hence, the tears! It's so TRUE.

This short video is at once quiet, profound, powerful, true, simple – and so supremely human. It was produced by the Cleveland Clinic, as an example of their regard for empathy.

It’s a profound reminder: we ALL have our story. Others have theirs. We NEVER know. And to treat others with the benefit of the doubt, with courtesy, with compassion, with respect.

Why fear the Future?

I tried as mush as possible to start off my everyday with compassionate thoughts.
I have learnt this from famous LadyGaga; a very inspiring musical icon. She mentioned that she practices this during one of her Interview.

It helps! It makes you appreciate little things in life. And it is exactly these little things that add up to make your day a whole lot better!
Afterall, happiness is your own choice. It ultimately depend on how you view things.

As much as it is a crazy thing to sleep in the day, I'm not frustrated at my biological clock no more.
I will give it some time and I'm sure it ail adjust back pretty well soon.
To embrace that, I don't have any more morning papers.
One less thing to worry at least; for that I would not feel lethargic and lose concentration during Finals. YAY. (Although I'm surviving on caffeine for some)

It's not that bad starting at night.
Well, of course I know it's unhealthy but at least I can still absorb the contents!

I have been chewing on this adorable cherry tomatoes for the past days; replacing them with unhealthy snacks. I had been gobbling too much chocolates and other sinful food for the past weeks.

This was an EMPTY DOUBLE-decker bus 96 after my SSA1208 paper on Tuesday. Life was too good that day, except for that consultation that almost forces me to cry in front of 3 TAs.
I know it sounded dumb, but I was feeling so helpless then. I couldn't do anything to salvage my D+. Thank you Xing Jun for accompanying me and fighting with/for me. I love you :)

God has been so kind to me, gracing me with such a comfortable ride home after a long day. Thank you!

Well, I do not have exciting/happening things to share these days; in the midst of Finals. So, I have tried to find little things that I could still celebrate in this hectic week. and I certainly hope you dear readers find joy in reading it too!

I saw this video some time back. Brilliant.
There is beauty in each and everyone.

I could die listening to this little boy sings.
He has so much soul when the melody plays.
If he had not received any musical/vocal training, he's just too amazing.
Pure talent; how beautiful!

I am so glad Ellen manages to find him and he's going on her show in a few days to come!

BMTC Tekong Visit - Didi Enlistment

Didi Enlisted 2 days back; a day before valentines!

I was struggling to go for class or to send him off initially.
And I was glad I made the right one; it will be 2 weeks time before I can next see him again. Misses.

We were waiting for shuttle bus!

And tadaa! We are on the boat :D

I hated the ride because I have motion sickness, and the boat was rocking like nobody's business!

And so, a tour around Tekong!

Dad and Mum were crazy!
THEY WERE COMPLAINING HOW EASY THESE OBSTACLES ARE; and that even they can do it without much effort. JOKER.

Actually, I don't think that they are that many complain kings and queens in Singapore!
There were only just a handful of them who kept complaining consistently and make it seem as though the whole nation thinks the exact same way they did.

Most dads were like exclaiming how good the life of a soldiers are these days; they were nothing close to what they have went through back then. *Salute*

But oh well, like what the sergeant has explained, they are fighting urban wars now; differ greatly from those days. Training has to cater for the essential skills to fight urban wars; unlike those days!

And so, the recited their pledge :')

Had our last meal together before bidding goodbye to Didi!
It was a beautiful day :)

Didi called back last night, and said that soon after we left, they started to scold them. Damn!

But well, NS isn't a time to enjoy, but to learn and train.
To serve and protect your nation, your loved ones.

Do not count each passing day, but make each passing day counts alright! :D

Another day - yet I learnt to treasure my life more now

I started off my day by doing SW Project with my classmates.
I was late, damn.

For once, I was pretty not myself.
I was rather quiet. Perhaps it's the first time we actually spent time together.
Then it poured, made my day worst. I felt.

Someone shared with me her personal life stories today.
From being in a not-so-welled paid family, to meeting a two-timer boyfriend, then being backstabbed by her loved ones.
She is really strong, and I admire that she could still stand tall and earn a good place now, with a much better boy. On top of that, she still believes that the world is a good place, and tomorrow will always get better. :')

Then I realised, I'm so blessed.
I have yet to experience a really bad thing like hers, nothing came close to it.
I wonder if I could still be as positive if I were hit with such incidents.
For now, I want you to know you are really a beautiful one. We aren't born to make everyone likes and understands us. If they choose to hurt and not accept us, there's a limit to what we can do. Ultimately, we just have to do what is right to us, and be true to ourselves. :)

My younger brother (handsome right! - he's single by the way, *hinthint* HAHAHA) is enlisting soon, a day before valentines. No more roses from him :(
I know you will do well; remember to eat more!

& he gave me this :D
Strawberry cheese fruit pizza for supper :D

Let me post some over-dued pictures!
I met up with my girlfriend yesterday, Nickie :)
She taught me piano.
I know I'm really slow when it comes to picking up new things, but she was really patient with me! :')
I love you :)

We had a drink at bucks a few days back, actually to do some work but failed. Damn!

And hey, it's out! JJ Lin. His new album will be released on the 13th March, and preorder starts on the 20th Feb. 4 days after my birthday! *hinthint! HAHAHA.

Do support him! He chose to work with A Sa. :) He's mainly working with people he had worked with for the past 10 years! And of course, some new faces too! I'm so excited! :D:D:D

Pause and think about this.

Im actually personally more surprised with the last comment.
Although certain countries are more liberal, they love less.
So much of advocating for equal right to love and yet does not show them when people really needed them?
Think, again.
