The 20 Things You Need To Stop Doing To Yourself

I do not own the following post.
I just find this inspiring and thus serve as a personal reminder, especially when a year is coming to an end.
Credit of this post is as below. :D

We are our own greatest enemy. We doubt ourselves, complicate our lives, cloud our minds with unimportant thoughts and negativity, we punish ourselves, hate ourselves and then feel sorry for ourselves because “outside forces” are making our lives a living hell.

Life is beautiful — you’re making yours a living hell all on your own. Each of us does things from time to time that make living happily more difficult than it needs to be.
Surely some of us have it difficult because those are the cards that we’re dealt, but most of us — especially those who are better off financially and don’t live on the streets — make our very own lives more difficult for ourselves. But there are things you can do to stop the miserable cycle that you have found yourself in — a cycle that I know all too well. Here’s 20 of them:

1. Stop Running From Your Problems and Procrastinating.
Problems don’t go away on their own. You can either make them go away or live with them. If you know you can’t live with them, then don’t procrastinate because the weight of them on your mind only increases over time. If you have a problem, then accept that you have a problem and face it — deal with it. Life is a long list of problems that must be overcome. The faster and better you overcome them, the better and happier your life will be.

2. Stop Lying To Yourself.
People will lie to you left and right throughout your life; don’t add to the pile of lies. It is one thing for others to be lying to you and an entirely different issue if you’re lying to yourself. You are the only person that you can trust…but if you have a habit of lying to yourself, then you can’t even trust yourself. You have to be able to rely on yourself and on what you believe.
If you know something to be false, then stop convincing yourself that it is or could possibly be true. Improbable is one thing, but impossible is another. Feeding yourself lies or half-truths will lead to the forming of a reality that doesn’t actually exist past the confines of your psyche.

3. Stop Living In The Past.
Yesterday was yesterday — it’s gone and will never again be. Everyone carries emotional baggage with them. Some of us carry the weight of a depressing past while others live in those happy long-gone moments that we consider to have been the best of our lives. You can reminisce if you’d like as long as you don’t forget that your reality exists only in the present.
It can be a dangerous thing to dwell on the past. Nostalgia can overcome us and make us feel that the world we are living in today falls short of the happiness we experienced in the past. Other times we will punish ourselves for mistakes that we have done and dwell in the negativity and bad feelings that we had. Whatever the case, be wary of focusing on past events and do your best to live in the moment.

4. Stop Attempting To Buy Happiness.
I’ve tried; it doesn’t work. You can buy drinks, buy drugs, buy sex, buy trips, buy experiences, buy toys and clothes…none of it will make you happy — at least not past the day that you buy them. I always revert to Paulo Coelho on this matter: happiness must be something attainable by each and every person no matter what his or her circumstance. If the poorest of the poor can be happy, then happiness cannot lie in the material.

5. Stop Relying On Others.
People have their own lives filled with their own headaches, own problems, own mishaps and own successes. Friendship is great, but often doesn’t weather the storm. Be self-reliant. Be independent. We all find ourselves alone at several points throughout our lives. If you find yourself on your lonesome and don’t know how to deal with it because you are used to having constant support, then you will drown.

6. Stop Fearing Failure.
Failure is such a derogatory term… I don’t understand why. Failing is learning in the real world. There is only so much that you can read up about the way the world works, but true knowledge comes from experience. And no one gets it right the first time around. You failed. Great. Try it again. And again. And again. The more times you get it wrong, the more ways you know NOT to do it.

7. Stop Doing The Same Thing Over And Over, Expecting Different Results.
At the same time, don’t keep making the same mistakes and expecting different results. If you tried something one way and it didn’t work, then guess what will happen when you try again exactly in the same manner? Failure is only good if you learn from it. Otherwise it really is just failure.

8. Stop Rejecting Prospective Partners Because Of Your Past Sh*tty Relationships.
You fell in love and had your heart broken; we all have. Luckily for you, now that you have experienced the pain of a broken heart, you have fully experienced the love cycle and can grow as an individual. Relationships, like the rest of life, are learning experiences. Don’t generalize and make yourself believe that all relationships end in heartache because that doesn’t have to be the case. Ultimately, you and your partner decide whether or not the relationship will work. Check your baggage at the door.

9. Stop Feeling Sorry For Yourself.
Life is tough for everyone. The richest of the rich have problems. The poorest of the poor have problems. We make problems for ourselves — they don’t exist outside of us. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and start interacting with the world around you.

10. Stop Trying To Change Others.
People don’t want to be changed and most often can’t be changed. You must learn to accept people for who they are. The less you focus on all the things you find wrong about an individual, the more you can focus on how to deal with them and all their discrepancies. Don’t fix people; learn to deal with them and — I hate to say it — learn to manipulate them into doing what you want them to do; mind-f*ck them.

11. Stop Making Excuses.
I understand that the time isn’t right, the place isn’t right, and the stars have yet to align perfectly. The setting will never be perfect for anything. Perfect is not the alignment of outside forces; it’s making havoc the perfect opportunity. Stop making excuses and start making opportunities for yourself.

12. Stop Worrying.
Sh*t happens. Then it happens again. Then sh*t won’t happen for a day or two…and then it returns with a vengeance. The more responsibilities that you have the more you have to potentially worry about. The key is to not procrastinate and approach all problems logically. You only have so much time in a week to work on the things that need to be worked on. You can do so much with that time. As long as you do as much as you can do, there is nothing you should be worrying about. The only thing worth worrying about is your own laziness; everything else is out of your control. If you worry about things out of your control, then you are setting yourself up for a mental breakdown.

13. Stop Focusing On The Negative.
Negativity is overwhelming and contagious. It tints the way we look at the world and makes us believe that we are worse off than we actually are. Negativity and worry go hand in hand and can be the downfall of all that you have worked so hard for. Living in a world filled with your negative thoughts doesn’t leave any room for the positive. Focus on the negative and you will hate your life.

14. Stop Being Ungrateful.
Statistically speaking, if you are reading this then most people in the world have it worse off than you do. That may not be very comforting…but consider that most of these people are likely to be happier than you. Happiness does not lie in the material, but in the immaterial. Be grateful for what you do have — especially those that play important parts in your life. You could be worse off and may very well be worse off some time in the future. Enjoy whatever prosperity you have.

15. Stop Wasting Time.
You are only allotted a sliver of time to call your life. Use those minutes and hours to make the most of your life. Ever hear your elders complain about how fast time flies by? Listen. They’re speaking the truth.

16. Stop Overloading Your Schedule.
Doing more does not necessarily mean getting more done. It’s all about efficiency. Human beings require certain things in order to live tranquilly. Divvy up your time for all the things that you MUST do and then divvy the rest for the things that you WANT to do. Just make sure to be clear on what you need before you start going after what you want.

17. Stop Trying To Impress Others.
It’s not worth it. The only reason you should ever try to get on someone’s good side is if you need them for something — only in business. When it comes to more personal relationships you can’t do anything more than be yourself. If they don’t love you for who you are, then they will never truly love you.

18. Stop Wishing You Were Someone Else.
Make sure that you know who you are and do all you can to develop — not change. People don’t change, they develop and grow. You are a great individual because you are a human being. You have the potential to do anything you want. Figure out what it is that you want out of life and go after it. There is no need to change who you are to match some preexistent notion of who you should be. Of course, certain situations you may find yourself in will have certain rules of etiquette, which you will need to learn and adopt. However, who you know you are and who others perceive you to be does not have to be the same person.

19. Stop Overlooking The Simple Things In Life.
The simplest of things are the most beautiful of things. Take walks. Talk to strangers. Look up at the sky, the trees, the birds. Connect with nature and all that which comes at little to no price. We often do our best to reach for things that we believe will make us more in tune with reality — happier — only to find out that we were greatly mistaken. Life offers us simple beauties. Relish in them.

20. Stop Hating Yourself.
We are often too tough on ourselves. We hate ourselves for our failures and our inabilities — which makes no sense whatsoever. Failing is learning and inabilities can be turned into abilities with enough work and patience. Whatever you dislike about yourself can be changed… just be sure that it’s worth changing. My advice: learn to love yourself the way that you are. Changes are easier to make when you already have a good relationship with yourself.

To reflect upon what were reflected to me

When you complain of people shouting at you frequently, do you think about whether you reciprocate and do it as often as they do?

And when people shout, is it because they are just furious, or is it because they are just trying their best to get their message through you, who doesn’t seem to appreciate and understand the meaning behind those words? Or worse off, who don’t even listen?

Whatever you do, or whatever people around you do to you, sometimes it all just comes back down to how you present yourself in front of these people.

And sometimes, you’ll realise you only have yourself to blame.

But as often as I always do when something bad happens, wallowing in self-pity alone, I believe, won’t solve the problem. Neither does running away from it will. And instead of just thinking how pathetic you are, why don’t you think of the underlying reason behind why things happen? They have a reason for happening, you know.

And sometimes, you’ll find that the main problem is YOU, so CHANGE FOR THE BETTER! :)

Time can't erase a feeling this strong;

"Never steal, lie and cheat. But if you must steal, steal my heart. If you must lie, lie in my arms. If you must cheat, cheat death so we'll grow old together."

Everyone of us is losing something precious to us. Lost opportunities, lost possibilities, feelings we can never get back again. That’s part of what it means to be alive.

But inside our heads, there’s a little room where we store those memories. A room like a library.
To understand the workings of our own heart, we have to keep on making new reference cards.
We have to dust things off every once in a while, let in fresh air, change the water in the flower vases.

In other words, we’ll live forever in our own little private library.

There’s a lot of things you should make back up plans for, but love isn’t one of them.

Little dreams of mine, of girls.

"I was told, the average girl begins to plan her wedding at the age of 7.
She picks the colors and the cake first.

By the age of 10, she knows time, and location.

By 17, she’s already chosen a gown, 2 bridesmaids, and a maid of honour.

By 23, she’s waiting for a man, who wont break out in hives when he hears the word “commitment”.
Someone who doesn’t smell like a Band-Aid drenched in lonely;
someone who isn’t a temporary solution to the empty side of the bed;
someone who’ll hold her hand like it’s the only one they’ve ever seen.

While I walk down the aisle nervously, like a 5 foot promise, I will put on a smile. A smile so big you will see it on google map.

When the pastor asks if I take my man as my husband, I will say yes before he finishes the sentence.
I’ll apologize later for being impolite.
But I will also explain to him, that our first kiss happened years ago.
And I’ve been practicing my “yes” ever since.

When people ask me about my future husband, I don't really know what to say.
But for sure that I know,
His eyes are the only Christmas lights that deserve to be seen all year long;
he would be a someone who loves to laugh, even at the silliest joke;
he would be terrible at lying, because he is one kind soul.

I tell them
If my alarm clock sounded like his voice
My snooze button would collect dust
I tell them
If he came in a bottle
I would drink him until my vision is blurry and my friends take away my keys
If he was a book
I would memorise his table of contents
I would read his cover-to-cover
Hoping to find typos
Just so we can both have a few things to work on
Because aren’t we all unfinished?
Don’t we all need a little editing?
Aren’t we all waiting to be proofread by someone?
Aren’t we all praying they will tell us that we make sense
He doesn’t always make sense
But his imperfections are the things I love about her the most

I don’t know when I will be married;
I don’t know where I will be married;
But I do know this,
Whenever I’m asked about my future husband
I would say … He's the best thing that has ever walked into my life."

I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone.

"I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person.

I have also realized that getting lost in thoughts and in physicality is a beautiful thing. Over the years, I have learned that losing yourself and finding your way back makes the experience that much better. No matter what age you are, when you have a problem, or what that problem is, just go for a walk or drive and get lost. You will have sorted out your mind and troubles by the time you find your way back.

There is no better time than now for you to allow yourself to be happy. It is time to embrace yourself and all that you have to offer. Be alone; give yourself the chance to learn about yourself, expand your soul and allow yourself to grow. Enable each chapter of your life to help you become a better you. Press forward, putting one foot in front of the other, until you are finally so overwhelmingly confident that you can look back, and see that you have climbed mountains."

Chasing Riches

I chanced upon this piece some time back.
It was being displayed at the museum for The Artsy Affair (TAP 2013).

This is a piece of art by an artist name Zhi Yang (Lek).
Take a minute and have a good look at it. What did you see?

The lady in the picture, she's so beautiful. In fact, I find her flawless. Yet, she's chained up, she's tied up. I felt so disturbed, so so disturbed.

Quoted by him, 'In the future, when the world has changed for the worse, people would be so focused on chasing material wealth and possessions that it becomes an obsession. Ultimately, it consumes so much of their lives that it suffocates them."

And this is clearly evidenced, being reflected in our today's world. The picture depicts the true reality. It's not just women. So many of us, are obsessed with pursuing what the "norm" beauty is, the beauty that commercial often focus too much on. We dedicate our life in getting the material goods, the surface beauty, the things that do not last. Whatever happens to the real, genuine, and pure beauty?

& it's killing us, slowly. We are our own murderers.

We can never always be champion, for there is only space for one.

An overdued post (stuck in draft for some reason), but it's a beautiful one so tada!

I'm so thankful for life, for that I'm loved, and able to love.

I fall from the sky some time last week. I was so happy I saw the first A in my days in University, and then the very next day, I received a C+ report.
But I thank god, because then he showed a someone who love and care for me. She brought lunch for me (cooked by her mum aka my god-ma!) to make my day a millions time better.

My mummy came to drive me to school and I managed to witness this beautiful sunset. (Aww, I'm so so loved! Thank you mummy <3)

On a side note, I have lied. (Okay, I finally gonna say the truth).
I actually do like sunset more than sunrise. (I know most of us love sunrise, or it makes no difference to more! But I decided to be different, to stick to my real love for once).
It could be due to that I could hardly wake up that early to catch the amazing sunrise. I know sunrise signifies a brand new beginning, another miracle and full or surprise day waiting for us.
Yet, sunset always mesmerises me a little more.
I dont think sunset means the end of the day; it means a good closure to me. And one signifies another new beginning, that I can look forward to. I like the feeling of anticipating!

I don't know if I'm making sense thus far, but I shall end of with a something to keep me going (that C+ report really hit me quite badly).
As the tile suggests, we can never always be champion, for there is only space for one. But go deep down, find and recognize the champion within our souls, and tell ourselves to be brave, to face the challenge of making sure we finish the race. :)

When I first listened to this song, it just remind me of this friend of mine.
The song literally depicts his life story.

I remembered making fun of him; not knowing he went through so much more.
I assumed that he's single because of those norm reasons. How shallow could I be!
When he told me the real reason behind it, I went silent.

For a moment, it struck me. For a moment, I realised how precious one's life is.
For a moment, I realised it does not only happen in drama.
For a moment, I seem to walk into his world, I saw the pains and struggles, the hell he fought through.

It reminded me, not to judge.

Many many things don't appear as what is seen on the surface.
Unless you went through the same experiences, unless you are living in the EXACT environment, we have no right to judge and criticise another.

Yet how many times did we manage to put all these down and be kind to another?

& my friend, I have not seen you for so long. I don't know how you are doing now.
But you are in my prayers.

当你失去了你的全世界,你又会怎么走下去呢?
当你失去了你的全世界,你还会有同样的勇气吗?

Chad Eastham - A new author I adore!

Healthy relationships involve two people who nurture one another, give hope, listen, care, and ask for care in return. They grow. They bring joy and peace. They heighten your dreams and scope of the world, and they inspire you to move mountains.

You are free to make your own choices. But make them well. You deserve care, and the people around you do too. And you deserve to make decisions that will serve your heart and the hearts around you well.

I have recently been obsessed with this book titled, "The Truth about dating, love & just being friends. And .." Author: Chad Eastham

You may question why is it a run-on sentence for a title? It offers more than just about dating.

Well, although I have to admit that Chad is not a fantastic writer to some, he does not use bombastic vocabulary, he do jump here and there for some content, I still like him a lot.
And here are the reasons why:
1. He is one entertainer. I just had so much fun and laughter while reading and enjoying his books. I like how he chose his words to interact with the readers. I like the mood he set, the atmosphere.
2. He is one humble person. He does not try to manipulate and buy his thinking and all; he just offers his opinions from his point of view and they are pretty constructive I would say.
3. He has a great story to tell. A person's life experiences is definitely his or her most powerful tools. Being a teenager, he got himself into deep shit. And am glad he managed to make it thus far; and now, as an inspiration and motivation to many.

It's a book recommended for youth.
I really do like the part where he thinks that as a youth, it is more important to find your identity before stepping into a relationship.
There are very few upsides to high school relationships, but a great number of downsides.
So, I am learning to too; not be obsessed and rushing into one.

Meet new people, embrace life. Meeting new people is good. It always allow me to see and view life in a whole different perspective.
One of my new year resolutions, stop being so lazy and engage in activities outside - to meet new people, new friends :)

I was able to relate rather well to many in his book.
If you have read his books before, do let me know how you find them ya? :)

We can always choose to dance in the rain!

It rained the whole day ever since midnight yesterday.

I love rain; I have always wanted to dance in the rain. I think I will enjoy myself to the last bit, raindrop as my melody. Of course, taking away all the thunder roars please. Not a big fan of that.

I was contacted by Bloodbank two days back that my blood type is running low in their bank.
Since I have no plans for this morning, why not pay them a visit.

Bloodbank@Woodlands

Address:  900 South Woodlands Drive #05-07 Woodlands Civic Centre (opposite Causeway Point) Singapore 730900
Opening Hours:  Monday, Wednesday to Friday: 12pm to 8pm. Saturday: 9am to 5pm. Sunday: 9am to 2pm. Eve of Christmas, New Year and Chinese New Year: 9am to 2pm.
Closed on: Tuesdays and Public Holidays.

It was my first time there, alone.
And I dont really enjoy that frankly.
It hurts quite a bit today and I was quite afraid.

All went well though.

My weight managed to hit 50 exactly and I was given a choice to donate the bigger bag; TEEHEE :D

If you are like me, healthy, your blood could save a life or more.
Don't hesitate, that bit of pain is worthwhile.
Plus, you can eat all you want after because you have lost weight.
Okay, jokes aside, donating blood is good.

You can find more details here at their website: https://www.donorweb.org/singapore-bloodbank2/

I was late but Li Ting was really nice and waited for me.
Get a lovely piece from her; do support her blogshop alright! They are lovely. :)
http://galaxymoon-market.com

I have recently tried this sharing the best thing that has happened to you today with a very good friend of mine.
And I find it rather useful; it actually motivates me to make my everyday life a slightly better one.
Initially it was because so I have something cool to share, but later, it made me realised that "Happiness is a choice" is indeed true.

So don't forget to "Make it happen!"

& on a side note, if you like my posts, do share and follow. <3
It means a lot to me!

"You are the owner of your smile. Don't look at others to give you a reason. Construct your own reasons for it!"

Pursing the real meaning of learning:)

Finals being an ass right now. There seems so much to cover, way beyond what I could handle.
Yes, I always start to wonder why do I hate school when it comes to exams. Like they never failed to make me feel that way.
But then I realized, it’s all in me. I have to stop thinking that way. Oh yes, I felt that I failed when I got that sort of A Level results.

不是得到, 而是学到
从学习中得到
乐趣 所以真正学到
如果我们淡薄一些 我们的世界就会更美丽

Then again, this is not the main reason I’m here right? I’m here to learn. Exams will only push me harder and forces me to learn more.
So keep fighting Pecky; I know you will be proud of yourself at the end of the it. Whatever the results may be, it's all in your mind.

So, I have got to be disciplined for once.
Till then.

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Revenge S2E4: They say that let he who is without sin cast the fire stone. And to be without sin requires absolute forgiveness.
But when your memories are freshly opened as wounds, forgiveness is the most unnatural of all human emotions.

I couldn't agree more to that.
Dearest Nickie must be wondering what exactly happened that destroyed such a big part of me.
When I have decided not to protect that someone anymore, I will come to you.

Yet again, the more anger towards the past you carry in you heart, the less capable you are of loving in the present.
If I want to forget someone, and move on, I must give up hating them.
It's hard to forget someone you hate, because hatred takes pieces of your heart - thereby this person stays within your heart.

If you want to forget someone, let go of the hate, and create peace in your heart instead.
It's your road, and yours alone. others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.
Whatever others say are deem useless if you do not want to let it go.
Stop holding on to what hurts, and make room for what feels good. Only I can make that happen.
Noted.
Yes, I do need reminder like this one.

Everyone who is in your life is meant to be a part of that journey, but not all of them are meant to stay.
Never cry for that person who doesn't know the value of your tears.
So just please stop going back to the past.
Dear past, just stop freaking tap on our shoulder and force us to look back.
Someone ever told me that it's useless, because the other party has ale moved on.
Staying at the same spot and crying over whatever has happened would not change anything.
Don't degrade yourself.

Might not be tonight, tomorrow of the next day, but everything's gonna be okay.
Eunice told me that everything's will be fine in the end. If' it is not okay, it is not the end(:

A little note to the girls are out there,
"Don't complain about someone not treating you right. If you know you deserve better, why are you with them?"

Don't bloody hold on to a relationship because he is your first; don't believe in fairytales please.
Don't bloody hold on to a relationship because it has been a long one; it's always an advantage for guys when it comes to this.
Don't bloody hold on to a relationship because you have given them your first; fuck those shits and never do it with them again.
DON't Don't don't become someone else you yourself don't even recognise; that's their ultimate aim - to destroy us.
Don't let them win this game. Yes, I see these as games.
Be who you are, hold on to your values and beliefs.
They are still many beautiful things and people in this world.
Be brave and explore them, find new meanings in life, pursue new dreams, live it to the fullest.

Don't let this little set back fail you.
You are still YOU.
As long as you allow yourself to.

I found my new directions :)

Life story of Tae-Ho

A story about an extraordinary little boy, name Tae-Ho.

This was a clip shown to me during my Social Work lecture yesterday. The very reason I love Social Work lectures, lecturers always share inspiring clips & videos. One that which will make us reflect.

I pray that Tae-Ho's health will get better. I don't know how, but I hope his positiveness will stay him for a life time. As a child, he has yet to face the world outside. A much more cruel place, where not everyone will give in to him. I pray that he could always stay this strong, that his world would always be such a beautiful place.
Albeit putting this aside, he's ald one amazing boy. How many could actually pull through this? He doesn't even see himself as someone who's disabled, let alone handicap. He strive to be a someone who could be of great help to many.

It's good to watch these inspiring videos once in a while, to serve as a reminder, that we should place our focus on a bigger picture. Be grateful rather than demanding; live your life to the greatest, live a life worth living.
I know motivation doesn't stay. But we always have a choice in life. So, for my one friend who told me you are giving up life, I hope you will change your mind. Because you could still become someone so so great. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE :)

“Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.”
Met up with dearests after so so long. I miss them a lot.

Though I have not been exceptionally close with them every single one of the ladies in Secondary nor JC, I know they are awesome people.
We can spend hours chatting at the same silly joke and bitching our day away. Quality spent, *giggle

By the way .. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAH LAH! We have known each other for 11 years and we have been best friends since!
You know how much I love you; though I still hate the fact that now we are heading to different schools. I have always thought that we will stick together till we are old :(
Go to school together, have our meals together, go to class together (& pon class together hahaha!), join the same CCA, laugh at the same silly shows, and many many more. I won't need new friends then. But I guess I have to get over it!
Maybe then I will treasure all our meet-ups more, and I'm glad I could finally hear you sing :))

And, you SHOULD doll up for that event. Right, dearestS? I am not too sure your feelings towards him, but since you have agreed to attend why not pamper yourself for once and doll up! You can approach Nickie, I'm sure she's more than willing to assist you.

A "social Work" day

"Perhaps the greatest Social Service that can be rendered to anybody by the country and the mankind is to bring up a family."

Had a social work day - went to different organisations and interacted with the social workers there. Much disappointment though, I didnt have the chance to play with the kids at all!
The first place I went to is at Children's Home, there's no more orphanages in Singapore by the way. Albeit there's orphans in these Homes definitely!

The kids there are beautiful, but mostly suffered from hearing impaired.
It's such a rare opportunity to do such visitings; really as cliche as it may be, we should really treasure our lives and stop whining because we are so so much more fortunate.
Love life, live it to the fullest!

And top of that, as you can see there's a mosque near to the church. Such an amazing sight, well I guess  we dont see this in many other parts of the world. Different religions, different cultures all living in harmony!

There's a mini LKY giving a twist; adorable isnt it!
An artist was collecting Singaporeans' signature and compelling it for Sir's birthday present.
I was lucky enough to get into the queue and write a message for my idol and most respectable MM Lee.

I just stumble across this website from Lawrence Wong and it strikes me.
It's worth a read;

I guess we Singaporeans just need reminders like this.
Our generation have not went through any major hardships, have not witness anything like a war. Though it will be too harsh to say that we need to go through all these before we learn to appreciate whatever people out there are dying to long for all these, I cant deny the fact that we are too pampered.
At least most of us are.

Hopefully, soon I hope, all the stereotypes and labels being put on us Singaporeans will go away. Let us prove that we are much more educated, much more appreciative and deserve all the good things.

So, tell me about yourself!

Have you ever consider the role of memory in shaping meaningful experiences in daily life?
Think of the most meaningful event of your life.
Clearly, that event is one of that you remember, among ALL the things you have experienced in your life. we all have certain particular memories that stand out as indicators of meaning.
In fact, hover, everyday life is filled with potentially remarkable moments -  a BEAUTIFUL sunrise, a DELICIOUS meal prepared just for you, an UNEXPECTED telephone call from an old friend.
Experiencing the richness of everyday life requires us to be attentive and engaged, Sometimes daily chores and problems lead us to feel that we are going through the motions. this sort of mindless living may be a way to survive, but it is unlikely to be a way to thrive.
Actively engaging in life - investing ourselves in the events of the day - is the way we can assured that our life stories are rich and nuanced.
That way, when someone asks, "So, tell me about yourself," we have a story to tell!

P.s.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY XIAO FENG :)
We had a mini 'surprise' party for him!
09/10 - Nice and friendly people + crazy Cydney who were dancing and singing her hearts out.
Enjoyed myself :)
